Mr. Cornelius Ramatlhakwane is shareholder of Malaczynski Burn (PTY) Ltd, Botswana and is currently performing a non-executive role in the organization. Cornelius is the CEO of BotswanaPost since October 2015. He has been with the post since 2009, as former Head of Business Development overseeing BotswanaPost transition from a traditionalist Postal operator to a service provider. CR, has over 20 years of experience in the banking, financial and postal services sector covering diverse areas such as Business Development, Customer Service, Credit Risk Management, Sales and Marketing. He started his career with Deloitte and Touché, Cresta Hospitality Group and Standard Chartered Bank before joining BotswanaPost at Executive Management level responsible for commercial strategy, business development, and product development. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby-United Kingdom, as well Executive Development Programs from University of Stellenbosch Business School- South Africa. .

Nick has an extensive understanding of the financial services industry. He graduated in Economics in 1981. His experience, gained over 30 years, includes being a director of a UK unit trust company, where he developed and marketed a number of trust products, a director of a UK life assurance company, where he developed a number of unit linked products and offshore life products, the developer of one of Europe’s first UCITS registered umbrella funds, a director of a multi-manager hedge funds company, the CEO of an investment research company. Nick created and managed one of the first UCITS registered funds in Luxembourg, overseeing the asset management, administration and custodial work for that product. He developed his own investment research business in 1995 and a communications company in 2000. He has lectured throughout the UK , Europe and South Africa and worked with clients in the USA , UK , Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America . Nick has developed a series of investment products in the equity, property and commodity trading sectors. With a strong quantitative bias, Nick is known for his work in risk management, asset modelling, benchmark construction and asset diversification. He also worked with the South African Reserve Bank to open South Africa’s exchange controls through the asset-swap programme.



Profile imageAlex Burn CEO

Alex has 20 years experience in the financial services industry and holds a H Dip Tax Law from Rand Afrikaans University. He spent much of his early career in Johannesburg at Alexander Forbes, advising corporate clients on investments issues while leading the development of various products and services. When South Africa lifted exchange control restrictions, Alex established and ran Alexander Forbes International, now known as Investment Solutions Jersey Limited, a multi-national, multi-manager firm. He was also the fund manager responsible for a Jersey-based multi-manager global equity, bonds and cash fund. Alex has lectured for the Institute of Life and Pension Advisors and presented international papers and lectures in South Africa on a variety of investment and tax matters. With a broad and deep investment knowledge, he spends much of his time developing transparent and cost efficient solutions. He focuses on unbundling layered product solutions, removing risk, removing complexity and ensuring transparency.

Ipeleng is an efficacious person, well diversified and has eleven years accounting experience from both commercial and public organizations. According to Gullop Strength Finder, Ipeleng is excelling in the areas of responsibility, deliberate, belief, adaptation and intellection. Ipeleng has an Accounting Technician (AAT) and ACCA part qualified with Advance Auditing, she also has Certificate in Financial Modelling including an introduction to Financial Markets attained during her studies with The London School of Business and Finance. As part of MB mandate for Skills transfer program; Ipeleng has gone through an extensive training and coaching for the past 3 years, and has exhibited high tolerance, appreciation, and exceeded expectations in her progress towards investment consulting area. Currently she is the office liaison for Botswana office, and is involved in most of the consulting process for Botswana Clients.

Raj started his career in the retirement fund industry as an administrator with Alexander Forbes. He then moved to join Liberty Healthcare as a provisional fund administrator. He then joined NBC Consultants and Actuaries, starting in the actuarial division as an actuarial assistant. Raj moved through the company and spent his last four years at NBC as the cornerstone of the company's investments consulting division responsible.

Baboloki joins us in August 2015 from Fleming Asset Management where he gained unique industry experience in the past 5 years’. The breath of his experience could ideally be summed up by the positions he held at his previous employer, which were the positions of: Pricing Officer, Performance Analyst and Compliance Analyst. Baboloki’s is currently a candidate of the Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professionals (CRCMP). He holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) and is currently busy with his BA Degree, with double majors: Economics and Accounts. Baboloki is currently undergoing MB Risk in house Investment Consulting programme.

Mr. Mahwi George, who joins us this month as a trainee consultant from The Department of Energy (under the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Affairs). Mahwi George graduated from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Commerce: Economics and Statistics in 2015. Like Ipeleng, Mahwi is also undergoing MB risk skills transfer program, he has shown such great enthusiasm towards investment consulting and we have no doubt he is generous in a making for the Botswana investment industry. Mahwi is a bright young man who for the past month has shown positive growth and maturity, his keenness to learn present high opportunity for his development in investment consulting. Currently he is involved in data collection, collating, and communication to other service providers and is equally involved in most investment consulting processes
